Abstract
WSSD Flower project is a project that is aiming at increasing accessibility of commercially attractive and good quality flower planting materials so as to have a sustainable increase of smallholder flower production in Uganda. The project is involved in identification, collection, domestication of wild floral plant species with commercial potential. The project is also involved in introduction of new floral plant varieties that are produced commercially in other countries especially those that are imported into Uganda on the local market like Ornithogalum arabicum, Eryngium planum to mention a few.. The overall goal is to ensure that smallholders have good quality and appropriate planting materials of these identified varieties, are fully trained in production of these varieties and promotion of these varieties on both local and international markets.
